The Glendale and Cherry Creek Chambers co-hosted an after-hours event at Cableland, the 19,500 square-foot official residence of the Mayor of Denver. Built by Denver philanthropist and Cable TV pioneer Bill Daniels, Cableland spans eight lots and is located in the heart of Denver’s Hilltop neighborhood. Since 1986, $18 million has been raised at the house.
Sponsored by Foster, Graham, Milstein & Calisher, the event was catered by Epicurean Design, featured a floral arrangement by Jultak Floral and a variety of anecdotes from several speakers.
David Foster surprised the audience with a story about his middle school days and even provided visual aids for all the guests. He passed out copies of the leadership page from his middle school yearbook and prominently displayed was a picture of David in his best early 1980s outfit next to a picture of someone he was in school with…Mayor Michael Hancock!
After David’s presentation Mayor Hancock welcomed everyone to his “home” and talked about the positive relationships between the City of Denver, Cherry Creek and the City of Glendale. He emphasized the importance of building and maintaining those relationships and the value that brings to our communities.
Glendale Mayor Mike Dunafon was then introduced and he echoed the comments from Mayor Hancock and elaborated on how the combined area and can be even more of a destination in the future.
According to Director of the Glendale Chamber Larry Harte, events like these, where members of both Chambers can mix and mingle, add great value to memberships as both Chambers of Commerce promote networking and building relationships.
