Mile High Spirits started in 2011, in the RiNo neighborhood at 29th and Larimer, in what is now occupied by Ratio Brewery. They purchased their location at 22nd and Lawrence nine years ago and have been there ever since.
“We think drinking is meant to be fun,” said Chase Campbell, co-owner of Mile High Spirits. “We take our spirits seriously, but not ourselves. We have full bands playing live music, bloodies
and bluegrass every Saturday, and DJs every Friday and Saturday night. We wanted to bring culture and life to downtown Denver with the distillery.”
Mile High Spirits features their own brands of bourbon, vodka, gin, and tequila. It is a place deemed as fun where you can enjoy yourself. They feature a fantastic happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Wednesday through Friday with $3 canned cocktails, $4 singles, and $8 specialty cocktails (all specialty cocktails are double pours).
Th
eir tasting room and cocktail bar are one of the best Denver has to offer. Mile High Spirits prides themselves on premium spirits, creative cocktails and unique spirit infusions such as an almond tequila. Whether you enjoy a whiskey neat or an AMF, they have the range to satisfy all of your drinking needs.
Mile High Spirits recently won a double gold medal at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition for their Fireside Bottled in Bond which aged for four years. Mile High Spirits prides itself on using all ingredients from Colorado, including the grain, corn, and malted barley. This competition is c
onsidered the cream of the crop in the industry. The judges are experienced, knowledgeable spirits critics. Each spirit is tasted blind, ensuring a lack of bias.
Every weekend gets a little rowdy at the Mile High Spirits taproom. With live DJs every weekend, they turn the Tasting Room into the largest downtown Denver dance floor between RiNo and LoDo. They are a cocktail bar by day, and one of Denver’s hottest nightclubs when the sun goes down.
They also have a silent disco every weekend. The outdoor patio is one of Denver’s favorite nightlife spots, and just a few blocks away from Coors Field.
Mile High Spirits is a proud member and partner of the Greater Glendale Chamber of Commerce, as you can find their spirits at many of the Chamber events throughout the year. “A big r
eason we joined the Chamber is the people, such as Mark Smiley and Jeff Allen,” said Campbell. “Our booze is in Shotgun Willie’s, who are supporters of ours. Rugby Scott does a lot of events with us. We love Glendale because it is such a cool community. They support each other and everyone looks out for one another. And some of the bars stay open a little later and that is fun too.”
