Nothing Bundt Cakes on South Colorado Boulevard, a longtime Greater Glendale Chamber of Commerce member, will celebrate 10 years in business in December. Ginger Benton purchased the franchise in January 2022, with her daughter and son-in-law. Benton, a former school teacher, was attracted to the franchise. “My daughter and I wanted to start a business together,” said Ginger Benton, owner of Nothing Bundt Cakes on South Colorado Blvd. “I loved the product as thank you gifts, birthdays, and we decided this is something we wanted to do. We liked the idea of the little gift shop inside too. I also liked the idea of even though it was food, I didn’t have to keep up with the perishables. And the franchise had a great reputation.”
Benton has also owned a Nothing Bundt Cakes in Littleton since March 2021. Benton fell in love with Colorado in the summer of 2020 after her daughter and son-in-law moved to the state.
Located at 1685 S. Colorado Boulevard, Nothing Bundt Cakes has been sweetening the Denver community’s life since December 2014. Situated near the lively Cherry Creek area, the bakery is a beacon of celebration, where every cake tells a story, be it a birthday, a wedding, a graduation, or a retirement party. “We say that we sell joy, not cakes,” said Benton. “We see repeat customers for their birthdays and anniversaries. Most people come in happy.”
“This place is so wonderful,” said Lacey McLain on Google. “They carried the stuff to the car for my mom who has a fractured foot. The cake is beyond amazing. So fresh and moist and the flavor. By far the best cake I have ever had. Will never go anywhere else. Also if you want to impress at an event or for a birthday? This place will do it.”
Nothing Bundt Cakes was founded In 1997 by Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz in their Las Vegas home kitchens, and it has since grown to over 500 bakery locations in 40+ states and Canada, becoming the nation’s largest specialty cake company, offering a modern spin on a classic treat.
“For our cakes, the secret is how we keep the moisture in,” said Benton. “I think I can brag on our cakes because I had nothing to do with developing those cakes. I am humble about a lot of things but not our cakes. Our cakes are delicious, and we have sizes that fit all. There is a flavor for everybody. Plus, cake makes everything better.”
Benton was not a cake lover until she tried a bundt cake. After that, she was hooked. She is also hooked on supporting her local community. “I really believe the Chamber provides a vehicle to get to know people,” said Benton. “I came from a small town in Georgia and I recognize the importance of supporting your local community.”
