Steve Segal: Originally from Maine, Segal has lived and worked in the Denver-Boulder area since 1986.

Pat Linden: Linden enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, is a Broncos fan, and is an avid explorer of Colorado’s most rugged off-road 4WD terrain.

Pat Linden and Steve Segal have known each other and have been friends for years. It wasn’t until two years ago that they combined forces to start the boutique law firm Linden Segal. Linden Segal is situated across the street from Glendale in the Ptarmigan At Cherry Creek building.

Why did they feel this partnership would work? “More than anything it was our shared value system,” said Steve Segal. “We both value honesty, transparency, and doing the best we can for our clients and being hands-on with them and we are focused on helping them succeed.”

Linden Segal is a boutique law firm that represents clients throughout their business life cycles, from formation to exit. They are business and transactional law specialists with extensive experience in all aspects of corporate law and governance, partnerships, joint ventures, emerging companies, private equity and venture capital, private and public securities offerings, and mergers and acquisitions. They offer clients big firm experience at a better price.

Their attorneys have been lead counsel on hundreds of mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions for deal sizes ranging from hundreds of thousands of dollars to more than $750 million. They represent companies, entrepreneurs and investors, large and small, across many industries, ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. They are frequently the go-to outside general counsel for all types of commercial contracts, joint ventures, partnership and operating agreements, secured transactions, technology licensing agreements, employment agreements, incentive-based equity plans, and corporate governance matters.

“I think the Chamber is really active which is really impressive,” said Linden. “It is more active than I would have anticipated in a really positive way. My financial advisor has been a long-time member. We both live in the area and wanted to become more connected. Everyone seems to be super active and there are a lot of opportunities.”

“I have lived in this area since 1989 and I have seen a lot of growth and development,” said Segal. “I’ve seen the Chamber and the City of Glendale focus on smart growth and do a great job developing the Colorado Boulevard and Cherry [St.] corridors. That’s exciting to me. I think the Chamber has been an integral part of that and we want to be part of continuing to support that.”

Linden and Segal each have their own specialties that make the partnership work. Segal’s clients span many industry sectors, including technology, health care and life sciences, private equity and venture capital investing and fund formation, consumer products and services, financial services, food and beverage, and manufacturing. Steve’s clients range from start-up through growth- and later-stage, as well as individual and institutional investors, and have included a number of Fortune 500 companies.

Segal honed his skills and gained experience in big national and international law firms for 20 years. He started his legal career in the former Denver office of Kirkland & Ellis, and later was a partner with Perkins Coie and Cooley. He was with Greenberg Traurig prior to forming Segal Law Group, the predecessor firm to Linden Segal, in 2009.

Pat Linden specializes in business and transactional law. He has represented companies or investors in hundreds of early stage and venture capital financings. He is also the go-to outside general counsel for many clients across diverse industries for corporate governance, complex commercial contracts, partnership and operating agreements, secured and banking transactions, securities issuances, equity compensation plans, and employment agreements.

Linden’s clients include companies, entrepreneurs and investors, ranging from start-ups to public companies. He spent 15 years with the Denver and Boulder offices of large regional and national law firms before founding Linden Segal’s predecessor firm in 2015. Pat is a respected deal maker, an influencer, and a partner to his clients.

“As a serial entrepreneur in the tech startup world, I understand the importance of selecting the right legal counsel for the job. Pat has brought a wealth of experience in venture capital and commercial transactions to my companies. He always sets realistic expectations and truly understands how to create alignment of interests to get a deal done.” Ernie Graham, Co-Founder & CEO, Homebot, Inc.
