Winter Bike To Work Day

With 300 days of sunshine a year, the Denver and Glendale region is a great place to bike — even in the winter months. Transportation Solutions, Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) Way to Go, and cyclists combine around the world for the 2023 Winter Bike to Work Day on February 10, 2023. Register to ride at www. BikeToWorkDay.co and be automatically entered to win prizes to keep you cozy during the chilly winter months. Working from home? You can still participate with folks across Colorado by rethinking how you get to the grocery store, the gym, or to your kids’ school on the Bike to Work Day website.

You can also support the cycling community and keep commuters in good spirits during Winter Bike to Work Day by hosting a breakfast or coffee station! Many organizations and employers volunteer to staff and host stations to give away food, beverages, and swag to participants, and they use the opportunity to give away samples, discounts, or information for future use, and to connect with their community. Check out the map of confirmed stations.

Tax Credits — Way To Go

Improve your business with Colorado’s newest tax credit incentive for employers. If your organization employs three or more people, it is an excellent candidate to get tax credits back on sustainable transportation investments.

Access to shared and sustainable transportation helps with employee well-being and recruitment, and eco-friendly travel options help keep Glendale beautiful. Employers invest in building secure bike parking rooms, Commute with Enterprise vanpooling, RTD EcoPasses, employee eBike fleets, and more.

If you are not the manager or decision-maker, Transportation Solutions can discuss options and whether your employer can take advantage of the incentive. A short employer assessment to get started on recommendations can be found at www.coloradocleancommute.org, or you can email or call your southeast Denver Way to Go contact directly at ehine@tran solutions.org or 720-829-4183 to get more information about the incentives or to talk about sustainable transportation options where you work.
