On Monday, November 4, 2025, the Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center (JCC Denver) hosted a groundbreaking to signify the start of construction on the Strear and Pluss Family Garden, a new intergenerational garden and outdoor classroom, which will be located on the south side of the JCC front lawn.
The garden will create a beautiful outdoor space for members, and will serve as a memorial for Debra Strear Aleinikoff. It will also create a secured outdoor classroom for JCC Denver Early Learning School students to explore and learn. Construction is expected to be complete in spring 2025.
The project is funded by and named for the Strear and Pluss families. The first phase of the project will include removing the existing fence, prepping the land, building hardscapes, and in spring 2025, installing plant life.
The garden was designed by Elevated by Design, with installation by 303 Landscapes. Both partners have worked closely with JCC Denv er throughout the entire planning process.
During construction, workers will be wearing identification, so they are easily recognized. There may be some days where we need to adjust parking or routing of members through the front door. JCC Denver will do their best to provide advance notice for any of these adjustments, in addition to sharing updates as the project proceeds.
By next summer, JCC Denver looks forward to making this new outdoor space available to the entire community. Visit www.jccdenver.org for more information.
