Helping You Achieve Your Rehab And Fitness Goals
Peace Of Mind Pilates is a boutique Pilates studio located in Denver, Colorado, that opened in March 2020. Pilates is located on the second floor while they also feature massage therapy on the fourth floor. The Pilates classes are considered semiprivate as the classes are capped off at four participants. Each class is around 50 minutes in length.
Pilates is a type of mind-body exercise developed in the early 20th century by German physical trainer Joseph Pilates, after whom it was named. It became popular in the late 1980s when movie stars starting doing Pilates in Beverly Hills.
Marisa Oldefest, founder and CEO of Peace of Mind Pilates, found Pilates 24 years ago after an auto accident left her with a neck injury. She attended her first Pilates private session at a physical therapy clinic and after just minutes into her Pilates practice she began to feel relief in her neck pain and knew she had to become a Pilates teacher to share the benefits of Pilates with others.
Pilates is Oldefest’s passion and she is always continuing her Pilates education in order to continue to offer her clients the very best in the Pilates industry. Oldefest truly loves teaching everybody at every age and stage of their life. She is dedicated to helping others heal pain and injury through the Pilates method and helping everyone feel comfortable, strong and confident in their bodies.
Oldesfest is also a Cancer Exercise Specialist and trained on all types of cancers, along with their treatments and can work with individuals during their cancer and recovery. “As a retired and injured nurse I was restricted in my activities and was always afraid of pulling my back out,” said Nissa, a client of Peace of Mind Pilates. “Since doing Pilates with Marisa I no longer live in constant pain and fear of injury. I am strong and active and able to enjoy my passion of gardening.”
