The Greater Glendale Chamber of Commerce hosted its Ambassador Appreciation and Awards luncheon at The Walnut Room on January 26, 2023. The Chamber Ambassadors are a group of dedicated volunteers who help promote the Chamber and connect with members all year.

The coveted award went to Bob Liebhauser, ActionCOACH, with runner up honors going to Inga Phillip, Phillip Gira Insurance Agency. All awards given were a surprise including Medium Sized Business of the Year, which was awarded to The UPS Store located at 820 S. Monaco Pkwy. in Denver.

Amy Curran and Rachel Sack, owners of The UPS Store, were in attendance and surprised when their name was called. All attendees enjoyed the golf simulator at The Back Nine, a bar in the back room of The Walnut Room.

The Walnut Room has been around since 2005 and in 2016, longtime Walnut Room General Manager Leslie Odell, and Executive Chef Jonah Munson, purchased the restaurant from the original owner and have been serving good pizza and beer ever since.

In The Zone: Ashley Minton, the newest Chamber Ambassador, won the golf simulator’s closest to the hole at the Ambassador Appreciation Luncheon and Awards at The Walnut Room in Denver.

Not to be outdone with the surprises, a group of Chamber Board members, Ambassadors, and Glendale city officials popped in at Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs on January 27, 2023, to award Steve Ballas the Small Business of the Year Award.

Surprise: Steve Ballas proudly holds his Small Business of the Year award presented to him as a surprise at his restaurant on January 27, 2023.

Ballas was completely surprised and in typical Snappin’ Steve fashion, he poured two pitchers of beer and fired up the grill for hamburgers and hot dogs for everyone.

Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs features 1/3 pound and never frozen burgers, milkshakes, onion rings, fries, and more. Visit their local location at 3525 E. Colfax Ave. (@Monroe) in Denver, or order with GrubHub or Ubereats.

Last but not least, the Large Business of the Year went to Mercedes Benz of Denver. Terry Minnick, the GM of Mercedes Benz of Denver since 2019, was unable to attend but appreciates the award. He is celebrating 39 years in the auto industry in Colorado.
