Closet Design: The closet designed by Linda Bartels, Senior Designer for Closet Factory. This closet was featured in the winter edition of Home and Garden Colorado Magazine.

Linda Bartels, Senior Designer for Closet Factory, designed the primary closet for this year’s Home and Garden Colorado Magazine Showhome. Closet Factory was awarded the project and Bartels was the designer chosen to work with the builder and was the lead designer for the closet.

“Closets rarely make the cut to be published in the magazine [Home and Garden Colorado],” said Bartels. “This one made it.” Closet Factory, a franchise that started in California, celebrated its 30th year in Colorado in 2022 and is the largest custom closet company in Colorado.

Bartels started in the design business in 2008 in Chicago when she earned a Certificate of Interior Styling from being a guest host of HGTV’s “Decorating Cents.” Bartels has lived in Colorado for 15 years and always thought she would live here since her mom took her, her twin sister, and her three older brothers hiking in Colorado when she was a little girl.

Closet Factory of course has a large footprint in closet redesign, but many people don’t know they have a turnkey operation for other design within the home as well. They have 14 crews standing by to build based on the design Bartels and the customer comes up with.

“60% of our business is closets but we also do any kind of custom storage,” says Bartels. “Especially during the pandemic, we designed home offices, kid workspaces, and that extra bedroom that was used once or twice a year is now a wall bed because we do Murphy beds and can make it a multipurpose room.”
