On October 6 and 7, 2023, the Hellenic Community Center hosted evenings of authentic Greek food, spirits, and the exquisite guitar musings of Pavlo Simtikidis and his band. The event benefited the Hellenic Cultural Association of Colorado and the Denver Greek Festival.

The event was open to the public and people, Greek and non-Greek, purchased tickets, some for a special meet and greet prior to the show. The capacity crowd enjoyed the music and many of the attendees danced to the upbeat music.

Pavlo is famous for entertaining the crowd from their seats and getting them engaged and excited.

“Pavlo brought such fun and excitement to not only the Greek community, but the Denver community at large,” said Luke Loukopolous, Greek Orthodox Church Parish Council President. “He made us feel like we were partying in the streets of Greece! Great vibe!”

Established in 2021, the Hellenic Cultural Association of Colorado is a non-profit charitable 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to advance the Hellenic culture and heritage by promoting cultural projects, educational endeavors, cultural events, educational speakers and artists, and other activities that further the organization’s goal of Hellenic cultural education.

For being all instrumental, Pavlo’s Mediterranean music speaks for itself. Over the span of his 20-year career, Pavlo, the internationally renowned, award-winning recording artist, performer, and songwriter, has released 15 albums to include four PBS TV concert specia

ls.

Born in Toronto to Greek parents, Pavlo has made a name for himself by offering a musical amalgam he simply calls “Mediterranean music” — a blend of Greek, flamenco, Latin, and even Balkan flavours, wrapped in contemporary pop. His music has taken him all around the world. Along the way he’s performed for royalty in the likes of Prince Charles and worked and toured with artists such as José Feliciano, Jon Secada, Olivia Newton-John, and The Tenors.

It has never been more convincing, Pavlo is a true world artist, and has become famous for bringing every audience to their feet. And the audience at the Hellenic Community Center did just that with impromptu dancing during the show.

Pavlo is currently on tour promoting his fourth PBS special “Live in Santorini” and is still driven by his father’s famous
