Smokin Gun Apothecary located at Colorado Blvd. and Virginia Avenue in Glendale since February 2016, is the first dispensary in Colorado to be built from the ground up. Now, they are about to become the first in the state that will feature a flower tasting room. Plans are being developed and “The Joint” is on schedule to open on April 20, 2020.

Coming Soon: Smokin Gun opened February 2016, and now plans to open The Joint, a flower tasting room, on April 20, 2020.

Smokin Gun will offer tasting flights where a customer can try some before they buy it. The room will be enclosed and feature its own ventilation system. This is being built to prevent the smell from permeating into the shop. The flights in this room will be set up similarly to a beer flight that you would find at a local brewery. A professional will be on hand, similar to a wine sommelier, to help the guest choose what is best for them.

“We really feel like being able to sell marijuana is a privilege and we also have a responsibility for education,” said Lindsey Mintz, co-owner of Smokin Gun Apothecary. “That’s been a big theme of ours throughout the course of the business in being able to offer customers a big supermarket selection (we have over 40 streams of flower at any given time) but that we’re also taking care of our responsibility to educate.”

Smokin Gun has a Wild West theme and The Joint will resemble a jail cell. The hours will be limited in the beginning, but guests of Smokin Gun will have a chance to weigh in with an opinion on the hours.

Since Smokin Gun launched, it has relied on a fruitful relationship with the Greater Glendale Chamber of Commerce. “One of the best things about being part of the Chamber is the ability to network with not only businesses in Glendale but in a greater surrounding community,” said Mintz. “Being able to offer our business exposure.”
