The average American spends 38 hours a year in traffic and no! that is not a typo. The ability to travel quickly to and around the places where we work and live is no doubt impactful to our quality of life. Throw in safety confidence and you have an urban issue that affects everyone. 
Transportation Solutions is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding transportation choices throughout the metro area. Balancing the economic, environmental, and health considerations is just part of Transportation Solutions mission.
Spokesperson Katie Bonomo says, “It’s well known our region is growing at a rapid pace. We have an opportunity now to shape that growth so that, as the region becomes more dense it also becomes more vibrant and liveable.” This opportunity includes reducing how many miles people drive alone and creating walkable places and liveable communities.
If you’d like to be a part of the transportation conversation, you won’t want to miss “The Road Ahead” an ongoing series on transportation options presented by Transportation Solutions. This exciting event will take place March 27th at the Infinity Park Event Center in Glendale, Colorado.
Over 250 local, state, and federal metro officials along with private sector participants will join Keynote Speaker Victor Dover to learn more about designing for density. Dover is a nationally known street design expert and co-author of the book “Street Design: The Secret to Great Cities and Towns.”
Following his presentation, Denver City Council President Mary Beth Susman will moderate a panel discussion on designing for density and how that impacts transportation design in Denver and the region.
Transportation Solutions partners with both public and private sector organizations to provide outreach and education throughout the Denver area. Currently it is working to help reduce traffic through the Leetsdale-Parker corridor through Glendale and is working with RTD to initiate a study of possible transit service along the Denver Union Station/Cherry Creek/Glendale corridor.
Transportation Solutions is a proud member of the Greater Glendale Chamber and Chamber COO Jeff Allen sits on the its Board of Directors. Bonomo explains, “The Chamber events are great for networking with other local business people and the newsletter keeps us informed of what’s going on in Glendale.”
