Helps Bring Denver Plunge And 5K To Washington Park

Westerra Credit Union, a Colorado based company, is a credit union and is a member-owned financial cooperative providing banking services including savings, loans, and other financial services to members. They are helping bring the Denver Plunge and 5K to Washington Park on March 1, 2020, to benefit Special Olympics Colorado.

Every Polar Plunge makes a difference for nearly 25,000 Special Olympics Colorado athletes. Special Olympics Colorado offers children and adults with intellectual disabilities year-round sports training and competition. Through Special Olympics’ athletic, health and leadership programs, people with intellectual disabilities transform themselves, their communities and the world. Funds raised through the Polar Plunge help to support programs such as Young Athletes, Unified Sports, Healthy Athletes and Athlete Leadership Programs, to name a few. Learn more about Special Olympics Colorado and our amazing athletes at SpecialOlympicsCO.org.

Each year, the Polar Plunge challenges thousands of brave jumpers at numerous locations around the state. It’s a great way for everyone — individuals, organizations and businesses — to get involved in supporting Special Olympics Colorado. All funds raised go toward programming and events for nearly 25,000 athletes statewide.

The concept is simple: participants raise a minimum of $75 and take a dip into one of Colorado’s frozen lakes (or a pool). But the Plunges are so much more than that: They’re the kind of fun and thrilling events that you really have to experience to understand. Grab some friends, get pumped and register today.

A friendly team competition always makes things more fun. Which teams will win the coveted Polar Plunge Bear Trophies for their category (local level)?

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2020, on the south side of Washington Park, accessed from S. Franklin and E. Mississippi. Westerra will donate $52.80 to Special Olympics Colorado for each account you open to help expand Unified Sports into more schools. Visit www.westerracu.com for more information.
